The Cape coastline — from the West Coast and Cape Peninsula to Hermanus, Gansbaai, Cape Agulhas, and the Hoop — is a prime spot to see Southern Right Whales from May to November, with peak sightings between August and mid-November. Most calves are born between August and September, making this the perfect time for family whale spotting.

Humpback whales can also be seen year-round, though they appear less frequently than Southern Rights. With dramatic coastal scenery and majestic whales close to shore, the Cape offers one of the world’s most spectacular whale-watching experiences.
