Hlane Royal National Park
Once a royal hunting ground, this reserve in the northeastern lowveld is now eSwatini’s largest protected area and is managed by Big Game Parks. It offers an authentic wilderness experience with a network of self-guided trails where visitors can search for white rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, and an array of smaller wildlife. For those hoping to spot lions, guided game drives with experienced rangers are available and highly recommended.
The reserve provides two distinct accommodation options: Ndlovu Camp, offering comfortable self-catering units with views over a busy waterhole, and Bhubesi Camp, a peaceful, secluded retreat tucked away in the northern part of the park. Guided walks give guests an even closer connection to the wilderness, and the birdlife is exceptional—particularly for raptor enthusiasts.
