Fish River Canyon

Another of Namibia’s geological marvels is the world’s second-largest canyon, surpassed only by the Grand Canyon in the United States. This spectacular natural wonder stretches 161 km in length, spans 27 km in width, and plunges nearly 550 meters deep in some sections.

Summer days here can be intensely hot, often uncomfortably so, while the nights offer a warm, welcome break from the heat. Rain is rare, usually arriving as brief, passing showers.
