Windhoek
Transfer from the hotel to the
Oliver Tambo International Airport where we take a flight to Windhoek. Pick
up the rental car on arrival and drive thought the historical city centre of

Exploring further
Windhoek, Nambia's capital city. Visit to museums. Overnight including

Day 4 |
Windhoek –
Keetmanshoop
Departure after breakfast direction
Keetmanshoop. Visit to the‘Kokerboom Woud’. 250 to 300 'kokerbomen'
grow here on a natural way. Most trees are 200 to 300 year old. This tree is
actually not a tree but a aloe species which can grow up to 8 meter high and
used by the San people to make an arrow holder. Overnight including

Day 5 |
Keetmanshoop –
Fish River Canyon
Southern Namibia is
known for its most spectacular landscapes. The geological wonder of the Fish
River Canyon is a beautiful example. The second largest canyon on the
African continent is millions of years old. This spectacular natural
monument is 160 km long - 27 km wide and up to 549 meter deep. Our hotel is

Day 6 |
Fish River Canyon –
Lüderitz
Today we travel to
Lüderitz, a picturesque city in a bay at
the Atlantic coast, all surrounded by desert. Enjoy the colonial past from
the city. Our hotel is situated on the banks of the lagoon with its own

Day 7 |
Lüderitz –
Kolmanskop – Sossusvlei
Departing in
Lüderitz
and drive to Kolmanskop, 20 km east of Lüderitz. This small town
developed after the discovery of diamonds in 1908. In nearly 40 years time,
Kolmanskop developed as a lively town but finally disappeared. There is
nothing left from its glory days, buildings were covered by sand and dunes
and transformed the town in a ghost town. Nambeb, a local mining company
restored some of the buildings in 1980, one of those is today a museum.
Further direction Sosusvlei. On our way we visit the Duwisib Castle, build
out of sandstone in 1908. The castle would not open eyes wide in Europe but
this time we are in Nambia. Overnight including breakfast: Desert Homestead***

Day 8 |
Sossuvlei – Namib
Desert – Swakopmund
Visit to Sossusvlei
before the heat starts. Sosusvlei is a photographers dream. The area is
covered with monumental dunes up to 325 meter high! At the entrance of
Sossus Vlei is the Sesriem Canyon, an ancient 1 km long gorge. Overnight

Day 9 |
Sossusvlei – Namib
Desert – Swakopmund
After breakfast drive through the
Namib Desert, 1200 km long and 140 km
wide, the oldest and most extreme desert on our planet. The cold Antartic
currents from the Benguela provide the region some water for plants and
animals. This comes in the shape of fog. On our way we enjoy the beautiful
moon landscape, the result of 450 million years erosion. Here we find a
bizare plant, the ‘Welwitschia Mirabilis’, a plant of more than 2000 years
old and only producing two leaves during its life cycle. A large
concentration of these plants can be found on the Welwitschia Trail. Time at
leisure in the afternoon to catch some breath. Our hotel is built in 1905

Day 10 |
Swakopmund –
Walvis Bay– Swakopmund
Visit to
Walvis
Baai, the largest harbour in the country and formal South African colony.
Main attraciton is the lagoon where 80.000 birds live. We enjoy the marine
life during a boattrip on the lagoon. Back to the hotel in Swakopmund. Time
at leisure in the afternoon. Overnight including breakfast: Hansa Hotel****

Day 11 |
Swakopmund – Outjo
Departure in
Swakopmund and drive via Hentjiesbaai to Khorixas. Khorixas
is known for the 'Petrified Forest'. These are tree fossils which are more
than 200 million years old and some pieces are up to 30 meter long. Today
other living fossils grow in the Petrified Forest: the Welwitschia Mirabilis.
Further to Outjo with a visit to the 'Fingerstone'. Outjo is a town 80 km
south of the famous Etosha National Park. Overnight including breakfast: Namatubis Guest Farm***

Day 12 |
Outjo – Etosha National Park
Leaving
Outjo and drive to one of the most famous nature reserves in
the world: Etosha
National Park. The 22.270 km²
reserve is known for the Etosha Pan, a 5.000 km² 'crack' in the earth
surface. 114 mammal species and 340 bird species live in this reserve. Game
drive in 4x4 safari vehicles in the afternoon. Our safari lodge is situated
on the eastern border of the reserve. Ovenight including breakfast: Mokuti Lodge****

Etosha National
Park
Early morning game
drive in the national park. Time at leisure in the afternoon. Overnight

Day 14 |
Ethosha –
Rundu
Leaving Etosha and
drive via Lake Otjikoto, Tsumeb and Grootfontein to Rundu. Visit to the Hoba
Meteorite. The endless deep Lake Otjikoto and Lake Guinas were formed by a
dolomite cave which collapsed. On arrival sunset raft cruise on the Okavango
River. Overnight including breakfast:

Rundu – Mudumu
National Park
Early departure and
drive through the Caprivi Strip to the Namushasha Lodge situated near the Mudumu Nationaal Park.

Mudumu regio –
Chobe National Park
Drive via Katima
Mulilo and the Ngoma Bridge (the border with Botswana) to Kasane. Here we
leave the rental vehicle behind and go further with the boat to the Chobe

Chobe National Park
Enjoy today one of
the most beautiful game reserves in the world. 4x4 safari game drive in the

Day 18 |
Chobe National Park – Livingstone
Visit to one of the most beautiful
natural monuments in the world, the Victoria Falls which are declared World
Heritage Site! We overnight on
Zambian soil within walking distance from the falls. Optional helicopter
flight over the falls. Overnight including breakfast: Zambezi Sun***

Livingstone
Time at leisure to

Livingstone –
Johannesburg
End of the journey.
Transfer to the Livingstone airport for a flight to Johannesburg followed by
your international flight back home.
