Pongola Game
Reserve
The Pongola Game Reserve is established in 1894 and makes the area the
second oldest game reserve in the world. It is home to 350 bird species,
giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, impala, buffalo, rhino, leopard, hippo and
crocodile. Elephants were re-introduced in the reserve, precisely 100 years
after shooting the last one in the area.
