Akeru is
situated in the Timbavati Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province. For millions
of years, the Timbavati has remained untouched, retaining its wild rugged
character and is home to all of Africa's big game. It is also the spiritual
home of the White Lion, that has been called…...Akeru.

light and eco-friendly battery energy for the ceiling fans and gas to make
warm water, these are just some examples how unique your stay with us will
be. Luxury and comfort in a typical romantic African theme, that is how we
can describe the rooms.
Each of the 7 chalets with thatched
roof have an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. There is a choice of
family suites, double and twin beds.
Our
‘Honeymoon Suite’ has a king size bed in a unique ethnic style. We make use
of black/white photography and create that way a very special atmosphere.
This room has a private patio overlooking the waterhole where animals come
and have a drink.
We done our outmost best to create a home away from home. The
communal parts of the lodge are the lounge with fireplace, bar, loft, indoor
dining area and a boma, an outdoor traditional dining hut.
Our professional armed rangers and trackers make your bush
experience unforgettable. With some luck, you will see the Big 5 (elephant,
rhino, buffalo, leopard and lion). The daily bush walk is to be recommended.
It is the perfect way to see fauna and flora from close by.
The safari starts shortly after
sunrise with a 4x4 open safari vehicle.
We continue exploring the bush after a cup of thee in the afternoon, just
before sunset. We drive a little true the African night and with some luck
you will see the bushbaby. |
