mountain lodge. In 1994, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism had issued
a declaration regarding 2 "problem lions" to be hunted down and shot in the
Etosha National park. The prevent the lions to be shot, Fritz Flachberger,
owner of Okapuka, got permission to relocate these lions. Since then the
"King of beasts" had found a new home !

Okapuka is situated 35 km north of Windhoek, Nambia's
capital city. The lodge is built in bush land savannah afoot the Otjihavera
Mountains with a large variety of birds and mammals. Herds of antelope
roam the bush, the hooves of Zebra and Giraffe pound the soil, rhinoceroses
hide in the dense grass, and in deep, mystical blue waters, reflecting the
purple and orange sky, crocodiles hold their own. The air vibrates, as the
majestic roar echoes from the plains, as here, at Okapuka, the lion is the
king of beasts - as untamed and wild as Africa itself.
Facilities:
- tennis court
- swimming pool

Wine and dine: the
restaurant, separated from the bar by a water- and rock cascade, offers a
variety of specialties; unusual local game dishes, creative starters and

great architectural care has been taken to blend the rooms in with the
