Ibo Island
Lodge is situated on the Indian Ocean paradise of Ibo Island, just
north of the small town of Pemba in the pristine Quirimbas Archipelago,

Encounter empty

Discover a coastline fringed by tropical islands on an ancient Arab Dhow -
still built to the same design as the vessels which a thousand years ago
sailed from India. Snack on cashew nuts and tropical fruit and dine on the
freshest of seafood of every description.
Ibo Island lodge encompasses three
magnificent mansions each over a century old with walls a meter thick and
high lofty ceilings. Located right on the prime waterfront site, where
romantic dhows sail out to sea on each high tide, the lodge offers
an informal island experience, and with just nine rooms assures guests of
exceptional service and flexibility.
The wide verandas
are furnished with hand carved furniture and soft cushions. All rooms are
air-conditioned and also have ceiling fans.
The lodge has two swimming pools set in tropical gardens, an
air-conditioned lounge and private dinning room as well as a roof terrace
restaurant with an open-air lounge area for after dinner drinks under the
stars.

Wining and dining
Meals feature freshly grow vegetables, herbs
and fruits and combine traditional specialities with seafood: giant tiger
prawns, game fish and Ibo's speciality: crab with fragrant soft, fluffy
coconut rice. Romantic dinners are served on the tranquil verandas or on
the rooftop terrace all with awesome views over the island.
How to reach the lodge

Daily flight from Pemba
International airport in by light aircraft or helicopter directly to Ibo
Island (flights from Johannesburg OR Tambo, Maputo and Dar Es Salaam in
Tanznia).
The 25 minute light aircraft flight from Pemba to Ibo flies over the
Quirimbas Archipelago directly to Ibo Islands air strip and is simply
stunning.

Boat and helicopter transfers also link Ibo Island Lodge with neighbouring
resorts: Quilalea, Matemo, Guludo, Medjumbe and Vamezi island resorts.
