Duinepos is situated within the West Coast National Park,
about one and a half hour driving from Cape Town. The reserve itself is
31.000 ha in extend and is about 17 km from the fishermen town of Langebaan.
During summer months (December to February) about 70.000
birds migrate to the West Coast National Park from as far as Northern Russia.
The Langebaan lagoon represents almost 30% of South
Africa's salft marches.
Paleontological and archeological features abound in the
West Coast National Park and 'Eve's Footprints' found in the park was dated
at 117.000 years old.
Recreation in the park: surfing, waterskiing, snorkeling, picnic, fishing,
kayaking ext.
The West Coast has many things to offer to holiday
makers. Endless walks along unspoiled beaches in the national park (and even
a shipwreck at Tjaarbank) and swimming in the shallow lagoon.
Langebaan is a lovely busy fishermen town and for those
who want peace can make a short drive to the idyllic Paternoster, famous for
its colourful fishermen boats and excellent crayfish. Another major
attraction in the area is the West Coast Fossil Park, a former phosphate
mine poring out of fossils from long time extinct animal species.

Springtime is an annual attraction at the West Coast
National Park when the flower tapestries pop up out of nowhere. During this
short period (about two months), the Postberg Nature Reserve is open to the
public. This reserve offers unique spots, picturesque views over the lagoon,
the famous needle rocks, antelopes and the annual visits of the Southern
Right Whales (between May and November).
Each chalets is situated to ensure privacy, peace and
tranquility. Chalets have two bedrooms each wherefrom three have a balcony.
All chalets offer bedding, open plan fully equipped kitchen, lounge, fire
place, shower and toilet and an outside braai area. Two chalets are suitable
for disabled guests.
There is a communal pool and boma where you can enjoy a
braai with other guests.
Each chalet sleeps 4 people comfortably, but can accommodate a maximum of 6
people. If only 2 people occupy a chalet by sharing a bedroom, then the rate
will amount less.
Within walking distance is the Geelbek Educational Centre
and the Geelbek Restaurant offering excellent meals. Breakfast can be
arranged and delivered at your doorstep or you can enjoy your start of the
day at the restaurant.
