Visitors at Spier have to unique
opportunity to touch a cheetah. The cheetah conservation project is one of
the only three on South African soil.
Besides the cheetah project, guests
can visit the bird centre.
Spier is
organising regularly festivals where visitors can enjoy live music or a
picnic on the lawns.
The hotel on the wine estate is
better known as the Spier Village.
Spier Wine Estate & The Spier
Village Hotel are situated in Stellenbosch, only 15 minutes driving from the
Cape Town International Airport and 30 minutes from the Cape Town city
centre. Numerous other wine farms and wine estates can be visited within
minutes driving.

Hotel
The Village Hotel
has 30 double story buildings and build along 6 private gardens, each with own
swimming pool and entertainment area.
The Village at Spier
hotel is designed to recreate the intimate and relaxed atmosphere of a small
village. The 155 rooms are situated in Cape styled buildings. The buildings are
centred around six private courtyards and swimming pools, and connected by
indigenous gardens and walkways. Emphasis has been placed on maintaining the
ecological integrity of the area, and where possible, natural materials and
resources have been used.
Each villa consists of 3 bed rooms
en suite and a communal lounge. These can be reserved indvidually or as a
single unit for a familly or group.
Standard rooms
A Villa consists of 3 standard
rooms (each 60 m²) and a communal lounge room. If all 3 standard rooms are
booked by 1 party, the lounge is made available to that party. We also sell
the Villa standard rooms separately.
Suites
At 110 square metres a piece, our
suites at The Village are more spacious than those currently offered in
five-star establishments and are elegantly and simply appointed in the
traditional country style. During spring and summer, doors open onto the
gardens and entertainment areas. Come winter, light up the fireplace and
settle in for the night.

Picnic
A summer holiday
would be incomplete without a picnic on the banks of the Eerste River meandering
through the estate.
Shoppers
in the winelands can find nearly everything in the Somerset Mall or a
different alternative is Oom Samie se Winkel, an old Victorian shop in the
centre of Stellenbosch.
Golf
The 300 hectare Winelands golf
estate (co developed by Spier) will in addition to the championship golf
course, be able to offer all its visitors the opportunity to enjoy 'on site'
wine tastings, a golf hotel as well as delicious cuisine in either the
Kleine Zalze restaurant "Terrior", the De Zalze clubhouse, or the nearby
Spier Estate. Other golf courses in the area are the
Stellenbosch Golf Course and the Erinvale Golf Course just outside Somerset
West.
