Ongegund, as it is
named through history, was one of the few places in the Hottentots Holland
Mountains where farmers and their ox wagons could rest.

The estate was
connected in 1711 with the neighbouring estate 'De Fortuin' and later with the 'Knorhoek'
estate. In 1842 however, the estate was named "Myrtle Grove".

The more than 300
year old main building offers 6 modern luxury double suites with en-suite
bathroom and another 18 luxury suites in the new buildings.
The wine cellar
dating from 1820 is now and then the scenery for a wedding, special function or
conference.
