| Robertson:
named in 1853 after the Scottish reverent
Dr.William Robertson. Agriculture and the production of ox wagons were the
main activities in the region. This industry came to an end after the
Anglo-Boer War.
Robertson became famous
for its ostrich farms but also that came to an end after the First World War
which forced farmers into production of fruit and vineyards. This went
together with the famous breeding of race horses.
Today, the town is
famous for its tree lined streets, colourfull gardens and vineyards. |
