Mimosa Lodge is situated in the
heart of a peaceful town called Montagu on the secnic Route 62 which
connects the Karoo towns with Oudtshoorn and the Garden Route.
Montagu is in 1851 named after John
Montagu, the British Secretary of the Cape Colony who was based in Cape Town.
Before this name was given to the town, it was known as the 'Agter Cogman's',
meaning the town behind the Cogman's Kloof Pass.
Mimosa Lodge offers 9 Classic bedrooms and 7 Suites, all different and
individual, with warm colours and little thoughtful touches such as fresh
fruit, chilled water, a decanter with local Muscadel, books and magazines.
All suites are situated in the garden, each with a private patio or balcony.
Guests have the choice between twin and king size bed. All Suites have their
own Hi -Fi system and the bathrooms offer separate bath and shower
facilities.
The 9 classic fully restored classic rooms are in the historical main house
dating back to 1859. These en-suite rooms are decorated with original art
deco time pieces, some dating back to the 1920's. Some of the rooms open
into the beautiful garden, others are on the first floor level and have
access the Victorian veranda.
The Orchard suite is in a single building and offers a mountain panorama
combined with 1½ stories of luxury and space. This rooms offers a cosy
corner bath and a private champgane pool on the lawn in front of the suite.
