Kruger National Park and region
 |
Panorama Route: one of the most natural treasures in the world can
be found on this route. The most fascinating are the Blyde River Canyon (the
third largest canyon in the world), Bourkes Luck Potholes (strange shaped
rocks in the river, the unforgetable view at God's Window, the Shangaan
Cultural Village in Hazyview, the Mac Mac Falls and the historical mining
town of Pilgrim's Rest.

Kruger Nationaal Park - Mpumalanga Provincie: the most
visited section of this world famous nature reserve is in this province.
Typical for the region is African bush and a hilly landscape. There are
enormous reserves bordering Kruger Park in the west (see safari) part of
what we call the Greater Kruger Park. The chance to see the Big Five (lion,
buffalo, elephant, leopard and rhino).
It is advised to take precautions against malaria even
there are hardly cases reported the past years.
|
 |
Kruger National Park - Limpopo Province: the
northern section of the reserve is known for its African savannah.
The chance to see the big cats is larger than in the south section of the
park. This part of Kruger is very popular because of its many bird species
and the famous baobab trees. The largest baobab in Southern Africa can be
seen near Tzaneen. There are several huge private game reserves in the
southeast bordering Kruger National Park (see safari). Precautions against
malaria are recommended as well. |
