Cape Peninsula: the Cape Peninsula is a beautiful peace of nature, south of Cape Town with the Atlantic Ocean in the southwest and the False Bay in the southeast. Not to be missed is the Cape Point Nature Reserve and coastal towns such as Simon's Town and Hout Bay.

Cape Town: 'the tavern of the seas' and Mother City, found in 1652 by Jan van Riebeeck, a Dutch sailor working for the VOC (East Indian Company). It was the VOC's plan to establish a refreshment post on the footslopes of Table Mountain where fresh water could be found in the 'Varse rivier' (the Fresh River).

A few major tourist attractions are the 360° rotating Cable Way to the summit of Table Mountain, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, the City Bowl, the Malay Quarters and the beaches from Blouberg and Camps Bay...

Atlantic Seaboard or 'Cape Rivièra': coastal towns along the Atlantic Ocean: Green Point, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton, Camps Bay, Bakoven and Hout Bay.

Hermanus: this small fishermen town is situated along the Walkers Bay. Hundereds of Southern Right whales gatter here in the warm waters between June and November. Due to the protection of this magnificent ocean creature, some of the animals stay all year round in the Cape region. The only Whale Crier in the world blows on the horn and accounces where the animals have been spot. Hermanus is also a very popular destination outside the whale season with its white sand beaches (ocean water up to 23°C). Popular daytrips in the region are the Hoop Nature Reserve, another famous whale observation spot, the Fernkloof Nature Reserve and even Cape Agulhas, Africa's most southern point.

Cape Agulhas: the most southern point of the African Continent (and not the Cape of Good Hope). The beautiful lighthouse is inspired on the ancient Pharos tower. The entire region is declared National Park.

West Coast: only one and a half hour driving from Cape Town. The coastline northwest of Cape Town along the Atlantic Ocean is known for its lovely fishermen towns and the West Coast National Park. The beautiful reserve is an enormous lagune surrounded by salty swamps and ancient dunes. A sea of flowers occur during the flower season (between end August and end September). The Postberg Nature Reserve, being part of the West Coast National Park, is only open during this season.
