rooms and the hotel buildings (1682) with the Manor House, Jonkershuis
and the Barn have been declared a National Monument, lovingly restored
and decorated traditionally with antiques in the elegant styling of 17th

the central clubhouse is harmonious with the historical background
and architecture of the estate.
The cool rooms are finished with French terrace doors. The course is
designed by South Africa's best known architect, Peter Matkovich.
The 18-hole championship course is situated between the Steenberg
vineyards, a pine forest and small ponds.
The course has 4 specific parts:
Wetlands, Parklands, The Cape Flats and Fynbos. Young and old can enjoy
this course with its 5 different tees. Many players enjoy the superb
soft spike conditions. There are practice courses as well boasting a
'driving range', 'chipping' ,'sand traps' and a large 'putting' green.

The Spa at Steenberg

ambience is earthy and relaxing. Each treatment room is spacious and

Wine
The Steenberg winery is the oldest
wine farm in the Constantia Valley, one of South Africa's premier wine
growing regions. The two flagship wines, Sauvignon Blanc Reserve and
Catharina’s, a red Bordeaux blend, have won many acclaims under
winemaker John Loubser's excellent guidance. With currently 62 hectares
under vine, other varietals are Merlot, Shiraz, Nebbiolo, Semillon,
Sauvignon Blanc Loire, Steenberg Cap Classique, Sauvignon Blanc and
Cabernet Sauvignon.
