Mossel Bay, halfway Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. This harbour city is the
beginning of the Garden Route in the west. Mossel Bay is in 1498 discovered
by the Portugueze sailor Bartholomeus Diaz. The major tourist attraction is
the Diaz Museum Complex where a replica can be seen from the ship once used
to find a seaway between Europe and India. Here is also the first post
office in south Africa, the 'Post Office Tree.
Mossel Bay is known for its prestine
sand beaches and according to the Guiness Book of Records, after Hawai, the
most mild climate in the world year through. |
